PEDAGOGY Teaching – Learning process The teaching-learning at Neelkanth Institute of Technology is a continuous process. The process starts with the preparation of academic calendar at the beginning of every semester at the institute and department level. All the departments have well qualified and experienced faculty. The teaching for all the theory subjects is based on defined course objectives, and the course outcomes are evaluated through feedback taken from students. (QIP) In addition to regular theory and practical classes, compulsory tutorial class is assigned for all the analytical subjects to solve the technical difficulties of students. Expert lectures are arranged at regular intervals during the semester to cover the contents beyond the syllabus in selected areas. All the students are required to present the seminar report based on current research areas. In addition students are encouraged to go for their final year project either based on industry sponsored or research projects. All the departments are having well equipped software and hardware facilities and lab manuals to supplement the theoretical knowledge. Throughout the campus internet facility with 8 MBPS bandwidth is available. In addition all the departments have extensive self learning facilities in the form of technical CDs, standards, videos etc. Assessment of Students The assessment of students is based on three tier test schedule of Sessional Exams , five unit tests, followed by prelim examination at the end of the semester. Model answers are prepared for all the tests to explain the methodology of solving the question papers. Based on test results, remedial theory and practical classes are engaged for academically weaker students. To know the academic and domestic problems, mentoring system in the form of Guardian Teacher Scheme for every 20 students exists in all the departments. All the departments ensure a minimum of two industrial visits in a semester for all the students to have hands on industrial exposure. Students are encouraged to have inplant industrial training during summer and winter vacation. The institute organizes institute level entrepreneurship awareness programs to promote entrepreneurship among the students. All the departments motivate the students to go for higher studies through competitive examinations like GATE, CAT, GMAT, GRE etc., At the end of every year, feedback from industry, alumni and parents is taken to enhance the academic standards of the institute. neelkanth.edu.in
