PINOY AVIATORS CLASSIC: FIGHTER FLYBOYS OF BASA AIR BASE PAFAcer Pascualito Ramos PAFFS CL73 was born in Sindangan, Zambo DN on April 3, 1948 and after he graduate from FEATI University Manila, He joined the Philippine Air Force by signing up with the Philippine Air Force Flying School as an aviation cadet and became a member of class 1973. After his flying training at the Philippine Air Force Flying School, He joined the 5th Fighter Wing and fly with the Bulldogs, 7th Tactical Fighter Squadron. He was tag as Bulldog 264 and flew the Vought F-8H aircraft # 301. On 28 July 1978 Vought pilot Ken Fox up with Philippine Air Force fighter pilot then Lt Pascualito Ramos PAFFS CL73, south of Dallas. Ken Fox and Lt.Pascualito Ramos experienced engine trouble and tried to reach an uncongested area for a possible forced landing. But it was too late, and both pilots were forced to eject. The Twosader crashed in a peanut feild, ending more than sixteen years to the Navy Vought, NASA, and Britain. Ken Fox and LT Pascualito Ramos returned safely to Dallas via company helicopter. The falure of the Two seater to reach production, however, was in large part overshadowed by another foreign contract. Philippine Air Force received twenty five Vought F-8H in 1978 - 79. PAFAcer Pascualito Ramos PAFFS CL73 died of lymphatic cancer on May 14, 1993. His last assignment was as Head of 410th Maintenance Wing in VAB. SOURCE: MIG MASTER
