PLEASE GET YOUR HORSES VACCINATED AGAINST TETANUS!! My Christmas morning was spent seeing a case of this awful disease (the second such case in a week, and the first cases Id seen in my whole career) resulting in the sudden paralysis, collapse and euthanasia of an otherwise healthy horse. The spores that cause this are present in soil everywhere and get into the horse through their feet, wounds or the mouth. Vaccination is 100% effective at preventing the problem, treatment is virtually ineffective once signs are bad enough to be noticed!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE vaccinate all your horses - I dont want to see another case for at least another 17 years!!!
