PLEASE HELP SMOKEY Hi all, this is Paige Swanson here. Id like to tell ya a little about Smokey and why its important to us that hes found. Back in May of this year he was left, tied to the railing, of a radoms persons farm, with a note on their collars please give these guys a good home, we can no longer care for them. Their names are on their collars. Him and a his friend. His friend was also a male but altered and a bit on the skinny side. The owners of the farm were shocked when they got home and saw them tied to their porch. In Smokes eyes he had no idea what he or his friend had done to be dislocated from the life they know and loved. He was lost and confused. The owners of the property had land, horses, dogs, cattle... All thats on a farm and they thought maybe because they had that, thats why the prior owner thought it was a good place to leave them. Turns out the property owners didnt need nor want extra dogs and were content with their own stock, but as true animal lovers and advocates they refused to take them to the pound and find homes for them. The altered male was an easy give away based because he was already altered. Smoke on the other hand despite his tributes, knowledge, devotion, and confusion because he wasnt altered no one wanted him (at least locally they didnt). Smoke is a working dog, loves to work, and not without you, hes a teammate, a challenger and a happy go lucky to be your dog kind of dog. He settled in well at the property not knowing he wasnt going to be there long. A person from a distance kept trying to help this guy, give him a great home, but the distance ( three states away) just couldnt get him there. All trys failed. Finally a person stepped forward that was a little closer to rehome him with them. The people came to the farm and with no lets get to know each other time he was swept away again from the life he now called home. A luggish 5 hour drive in a truck with people he didnt know didnt trust yet and all the while hes thinking why?, where am I going?, are we going back?, what did I do, who do I trust, these people seem ok but Im so confused. In the series of pics Ill be showing you can see the first through the last Smoke had come to terms with his new life quickly, and a happy dog on the farm. Then when hes lifted away hes lost, you can see it in his poise, his eyes, his body deminer. ACDs (Australian Cattle Dog) are one of the most expressive, knowledgable, devoted and dedicated dogs. This last known pic of him on the streets hes happy to see people but so lost on who he is anymore, confused and running scared because he doesnt want to be uprooted again. There is a person out there that knows what hes going through and can help him be that ACD again in life that he knows and loves. Wont you please help, share, and get the word out.
