POLICE BECOMES WOST OPPORTUNIST OF THE BUAI BAN IN POM. The National Capital District Commission has drafted a legislature and was enacted by the parliament to become a Law. The betel nut ban Law has been abused and disregarded by everyone in Pom city. However, the point that this write up will be ellaborating police becoming wost opportunist Betel nut Ban (BuaiBan). I would first of all congratulate the NCDC for its effords on making sure that the BUAI BAN Act was well coined and passed at the Parliament Haus. However now it is the law enforcers responsibility to uphold and implement the Law without fear or favour and with dignity of task. There are alot of speculations goes around that the Law enforcers of the BUAI BAN are not carrying out their duties as prescribed in the NCDCs BUAI BAN BOOK. Those Law enforcers especially the police are the great opportunist of the betel nut ban policy. Those police usually confiscates the betel nuts bags from the poor vendors and resell those illigal confiscated betelnut bags to other people whom they know. For instance, at Waigani market some rogue policemen searched a guy suspected to be a betel nut smaggler. The poor suspect did not carry any betelnut except for a packet of PalMal smoke. The police men removed the packet of smoke from the poor suspect and went away. They (Policemen) shared the smoke among themselves and puffed away in front of the owner of the smoke. Perhaps I wondered and thought that those policemen are not doing the right thing to the poor guy. Another time I witnessed a packed police car drove by Gordons market and they started confiscating illigal betelnut bags there. They confiscated about 10 bags of betel nut and loaded all on to the police car and went away. I got a texi cap and followed the police car towards wagani drive. I saw another civilian car conveyed right at the back of the police car. Not long I saw the police car parked beside a rain tree and the civilian car also followed. The rogue policemen unload all the betelnut bags from the police care and loaded them on to the civilian car in exchange of cash!.. The two instances above are real and I witnessed them with my naked eyes. Therefore I would urge the general public to closely monitor those rogue policemen and tell them directly when they are not doing the right thing. It is also very painful to see those policemen chewing betelnut while in their uniform and in the blue colored states vehicle. Please if anyone stay close to a top police hierachy in the police department can impart this vital concern to him so that they can teach their policemen again!!
