POLITICS: Blackmailing the Northern leaders on education; Why VP Atiku Abubakar is not having his kids in the Nigerian public institutions? On Atikus FB post calling for ending the ASUU strike, there was stupid question asked by apparently a southerners and other bigots and black mailers jump-in - insulting the Muslims for problems in Nigeria - despite the fact that a Christian bigot is now the ruler of Nigeria. My comments - enjoy and Jummat Kareem: ------------- Do people really consider this a serious Nigerian question to ask today? Any way whatever reasons informed this question be it on religious/ethnic/regional bigotry or purely on being patriotic -- below are the possible answers, which probably Atiku Abubakar is expecting Nigerians to be very intelligent and rational people to know these truism in life. And by the way I am not holding brief for him or anyone, I am answering this on PRINCIPLE and personal convictions. Answer 1: Who are the people exporting democracy in the World today? America & British, right? And who amongst their leaders had their daughters attending public schools so that public schools could be good? Is it GW Bush the 1 terrorist in the World or is it Barak Obama -- the drone killer of innocent women and children? Answer 2: Lets move to Vatican, which of the Popes sends their children to public school? Is it the current pope or his predecessor? None! Or is the Nigerian CAN president had his children attending publicj schools in Nigeria? Answer 3: Lets move to Saudi Arabia and Dubai (UAE), which of their leaders send their kids to public schools? None! Do we need more? And so why would Atiku Abubakar be blackmailed for not sending his kids to public school? And if people have the means why wouldnt I have the choice of attending the best medical service or educational service. What is wrong with competing or patronizing the best, when we have the means? Or must all our fingers be equal? We dont really need this cheap blackmail to develop as a Nation. Instead, lets advocate for building strong working institutions that would discourage, prevent and sanction corruption and open up opportunities for the best educational and medical services to abound in Nigeria. If time permit, I may later dish out a more comprehensive response in an article I intend to title: VP Atiku Abubakar and the burden of slanderers/blackmailers - watch out for it. But before then I have serious questions for religious/ ethnic bigots and their sympathizers pretending to be patriots here. I will be glad if I can get their answers for the questions i raised in the following articles: 1.
