POSSIBLE RELEASE WEDNESDAY, JULY16th! We are watching the weather carefully. Scattered thunder showers are predicted for Wednesday but there is a good chance conditions might be OK during the mid-day hours. We have planned to release Shellie at 12:30. The site is on the beach at the access across from the rear of the Surf City Fire Department. For those interested, google for directions. If there is any potential for lightning please do not be on the beach. We are going to check the reports again tomorrow (Wednesday) morning and will post the latest on the release. Check in the morning for the latest decision. Lets hope for a period of clearing from about noon to 2 oclock at least! Thanks to all the great folks who visited the sea turtle hospital today…all 1177 of you! Your patience and understanding as well as your complimentary comments meant so much to all of us. We loved sharing the turtles with you. Your support helps us to rescue turtles like Shellie and give them another chance at life! Come back soon!
