POWER IS FOR SOUTHERN ZONE THE TRUTH ABOUT NORTHERN SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL ZONE -BY MAJIDADIN DANBABA (RESCUE TARABA 2015)DDI IKON ALLAH ********************************** History is considered as the author of a future as they can not a present without a past. It is in the light of the above that we the concern Tarabans humbly wish to call the attention of the good loving people of Taraba state to this piece of history. It is with the candid hope that the truth that this piece shall unveil may cause us to put back our swords into its sheath. When the formal gongola state was carved out from the defunct Benue plateau in 1976, the people of the present Taraba state were grouped under the southern Gongola. Their political Camp was devoid of all sentiment. The Zone had three prominent traditional ruling council they include, the Kwararafa Kingdom, the Muri emirate and the Sardauna Emirate respectively, Then Kwararafa Kingdom had Wukari, Donga and takum Local government Areas. The muri emirate had Jalingo, Karim Lamido,Zing and Bali local Government councils, while the sardauna Emirate had Sardauna Local Government. In there unity of purpose as a zone, they voted into power(office) as the first civilian Governor of Gongola state Alhaji Abubakr Barde in 1979 from Emirate. When Taraba was created in 1991 these are the 3 TRADITIONAL COUNCILS by the devine geographical locations all became members of one state Taraba and divided into North,Central and Southern Taraba with the same 3 Traditional council. Again when the bell of democracy rang it was the muri emirate that produce the first civilian Governor of Taraba State in person of Rev.Jolly Nyame in 1991-1992 the second democratic experiment was truncated shortly by the late General Sani Abachas regime. When demoracy was restored again in 1999, it was the Muri Traditional Council that produce the Executive Governor Rev. Jolly Nyame from 1999- 2007. By the year 2007 power shifted by the devine orchestration to Bali local Government with Governor Danababa Danfulani Suntai of Central Zone as the executive Governor of Taraba State also from the muri Emirate Council. NOW A TABLE OF CIVILIAN GOVERNORS OF TARABA STATE FROM GONGOLA TO DATE.......... (1)Under GonGola Alhaji Abubakar 1979-1983 NORTH Muri Emirate (2) First republic Gov Jolly Nyame 1991-1992 North Muri (3) Second Republic Gov Jolly Nyame 2003-2007 North Muri (4) third Republic Gov Danbaba Suntai 2007-20011 North muri (5) Forth Republic Gov Danbaba Suntai 2007-20011 Central Muri (6) Fifth Republic Gov Danbaba Suntai 2011 - date Central Muri (7) sixth regime and Governors 20years. Please let us consider the above and ask our selves the following questions.................. 1. What is the place of kwararafa and Sardauna ruling clans in the governance of Taraba State. 2. Are we being justified as brothers and sisters if a fellow from the Muri Traditional Council will still wish to contest for governorship of Taraba State under the umbrella of what ever political party? Whatever our answers to these two questions may be, it is only wise to conclude that the governorship of Taraba State come 2015 should be for the Kwararafa ruling clan of southern taraba. The struggle for whom to rule as democracy permits should be an issue of consideration to only the people of Southern Taraba. We must also remember that the sardauna Emirate that presently comprise of Gashaka,Sardauna and Kurmi Local Government Areas of Taraba State,also have the right to the Governance of Taraba. We therefor call on our fellow people of Taraba state and youths in particular to consider history and avoid being mislead because of greed, selfishness and deceits. We must consider our unity and our future. Lets embrace the things that unite us. We must not be deceived by destroyers of our peace and unity under the guise of religion. Think Taraba, think Brotherliness,think equal right.
