PREMIER DIVISION title hopefuls AUSTREY RANGERS dropped valuable points this week when they faced WILNECOTE GLOBE and shared the points in a 2-2 draw . It was though a great performance from the Globe against a top of the table team . Goals from James BALL and Craig FARRELL gave Globe their first points of the new season ….......... AFC BOLEHALL and TWO GATES UNITED were involved in a thrilling end to end game that had goals galore with Two Gates United just edging it 5-4 at the final whistle , after they thought they threw a two goal lead away to come back and win . Two Gates took the lead in the first half and then AFC Bolehall won a penalty through their captain Barron , Baldwin stepped up but missed letting Two Gates off the hook . Aaron THOMPSON scored a brilliant thirty yard goal as he curled the ball past the goalkeeper to draw the sides level . Two Gates scored twice in the second half , the first coming from a free kick , the delivery finding a man who headed in , and then from a long throw in . Bolehall then got back into the game through substitute Matthew BANHAM , a cross coming in and the ball hitting the midfielder on the side and crept across the player on the line who tried to clear the ball . Two Gates then regained their two goal cushion from another long throw in as the game looked to be won for the away side . However Bolehall got back in it , right back Ben Watsons sliced shot found Dean JOHNSON who took the goal brilliantly volleying it in for 4-3 . Johnsons second goal in as many games for Bolehall . It was then 4-4 as Aaron THOMPSON levelled it with a header in the final couple of minutes , the momentum was with Bolehall after dominating the last fifteen minutes of the game they continued pressing for the winner and were caught out at the back from a long kick by the Two Gates goalkeeper , the striker got to the ball first and put it away to give Two Gates their third win out of four in the league this season . INSTONE and HOLLAND both scoring twice for Two Gates along with K. McCALL ….......... STUDIO and ROYAL OAK KINGSBURY played out a tight battle that saw Oak take the points , but only just . The match started pretty evenly with neither team really threatening the goal , until around the thirty minute mark when a opportunists strike caught the Studio keeper unaware and he palmed the ball away only for it to land at the feet of Devante CARR who cooly slotted it away . With a hint of offside the referee let the goal stand . Then minutes later Kingsbury were soon on the attack and a delightful chip over the defence saw Mark BROOKS connect with a volley that no keeper would have saved for.2-0 at half time . Second half and Studio were taking the game to Kingsbury with little joy really , until Andy Wilkes smashed the ball off the post with help from a save from Adam Adafyio from about thirty yards and with Jordan Weir about to put in the rebound he was cynically hacked down and the ref gave a penalty . Stephen Pulley took the penalty and the Kingsbury keeper made a great save only for the ball to rebound back to PULLEY who made no mistake second time of asking and smashed it high into the net . The game then carried out like the first thirty minutes , uneventful and with very little chances and the game ended with Oak winning 2-1 ….. In DIVISION 1 , an inspired FOUR goal haul from GLADDERS saw HURLEY UNITED romp to a 7-1 victory over DUG OUT FC stretching Hurleys unbeaten run to SIX games and moving Hurley up to second spot . SWAN , J. LEECH and BRUSH were the other scorers with the latter also claiming four assists . Dug Outs consolation goal coming from SHEPPARD ….. VAULTS entertained FC BONDS and after the first fifteen minutes Bonds found themselves 2-0 down as they looked like they were still asleep in bed as Vaults started brightly and Bonds struggled to even touch the ball . Jamie NEWBOLD scored the first and quickly scored the second for Vaults . Bonds started to get back in the game and were starting to create chances and a ball from the right was missed by both Vaults centrehalves and Anthony BAKER made no mistake from twelve yards and rolled the ball into the bottom corner to make it 2-1 . Shortly after Wez Trunks went off injured and was replaced by Daniel Hermann and within five minutes of being on the pitch a ball over the top from Baker put HERMANN through on goal and he made no mistake in rounding the keeper to make it 2-2 . Bonds were a lot better in the second half and should have won it late on only to hit the post and bar just before the final whistle as the spoils were shared .... WILNECOTE WMC controlled their game from start to finish with PROGRESSIVE who only turned up with the bare minimum eleven . Wilnecote WMC took a 1-0 lead through DEVLIN and ADAMS added a second for his side to lead 2-0 at the break . Wilnecote scored an early goal from the re-start to lead 3-0 and added further goals through SMYTHE , FOSTER and HOMER to lead 5-0 . FOSTER then scored his second making it 6-0 before REEVES sent Wilnecote into seventh heaven with a bullet header making it 7-0 . The game was already won when Progressive added two late goals to the score through BLUNT and JAMES for it to end 7-2 ….. DIVISION 2 and DRAYTON BASSETT went down 5-3 at the hands of OFFICE FC . Dean CORDELL , Stuart HAYES and Drew SMITH scored Bassetts goals . The first half saw Drayton Bassett go in front after a goal keeping calamity from Darryl MacDonald gifted them the lead . A precise free kick from Danny GREAVES saw the Office equalise , only to go in at half time 2-1 down from a second attempt on goal from Drayton Bassett . The second half saw a much more attacking formation from the Office who soon starting scoring the much deserved goals . James ROOKER finished neatly after some clever play with JT who then himself scored a fine goal . Danny GREAVES grabbed his second of the day and it was sub Luke BARBER who scored a screamer of a free kick late on . Drayton Bassett scored a consolation goal with the last kick of the game , but the contest was well and truly over by then …. FAZELEY TOWN lost again thanks in part to a questionable referee decision from their point of view . Another makeshift starting eleven began the game brightly but after a deflected clearance fell to the Posts striker , stand in centre half Sam Motts last ditch slide tackle come block was judged by the ref to be a penalty , much to the disappointment of the Fazeley side and supporters . The decision was compounded by a red card which resulted in Fazeley having to complete the final eighty minutes with only ten men . Post converted the spot kick and quickly made it 2 0 when one of their many long balls found the striker who converted the chance well . Fazeley did well to get back into the game when ASHFEILD converted a corner with a bullet header . But the numerical advantage could not be matched and the final score was 6-1 in Posts favour . A hatrick from hitman Carl TEDDS and one each for Ant THOMAS , Jack JOHNSON and Ryan TEDDS sealed the win and moved Post to the summit of the league …. DIVISION 3 saw GATE INN meet COTON ARMS in a bottom of the league , must win battle with both sides winless , both teams needed the points and it showed in the game . The first ten minutes showing both sides being cagey not wanting to make mistakes but still chances at both ends as Gate had a good chance but the header was comfortably saved whilst up the other end Dan Cobb had a twenty five yard effort superbly saved by the Gate keeper . The deadlock was broken after a cross from the Gate saw Cotons Scott Simpson head the ball into his own net . The Gate built on this and kept pressuring Coton Arms harder and harder which eventually paid off with a second goal for the Gate from Kris MURRAY . Shortly afterwards the Gate went on to make it 3-0 after great team play saw débutante Bradley GAVIN go on a solo run , taking on and beating three players before scoring a top corner screamer from twenty five yards out . Minutes later Kris MURRAY scored his second and the Gates fourth which should have put the game to bed but Coton never gave up and kept on plugging away and after seeing an effort from new boy Sam Evans come crashing back off the bar Coton deservedly pulled one back to make it 4-1 at half time after a Spencer STEWARD goal . The second half saw both sides put in a poor performance considering the explosive first half but it was end to end with Coton taking more of the game which paid off when they scored again when Dan WHITTINGHAM was on hand to tap in from six yards out to make it 4-2 . Coton had another two very good chances to draw back level seeing a goal line clearance deny one chance before yet another came back off the bar . The Gate players had taken their foot off the pedal after the first half thinking they had won but after Coton made it 4-2 they were forced to raise their game again and some sloppy play from Coton and a good tackle and assist for new lad Gone Chokchai another goal came from the Gates Kris MURRAY giving him another well worked hat trick , two in two weeks putting him well out in front as the teams top goal scorer . A great battling game overall with a well deserved 5-2 win for the Gate Inn who hope the result will now kick-start their season in the right direction …...... EDINGALE SWIFTS shook off an awful start to record a comfortable 7-2 win over MIDLAND UNITY in the end . Edingale were slow out the traps and found themselves a goal down when the Unity striker OREILLY scored from fifteen yards to deservedly give his side the lead . The goal seemed to shake Edingale into life and the equaliser came when Kieran CHERRIE picked up the ball on the left wing and beat a man before firing a right footed shot past the keeper . This galvanised Edingale and John Cooke won a tackle in the middle of the park and crossed brilliantly for CHERRIE to diving head home from eight yards . It was quickly 3-1 as Andrew STEWART-JONES out muscled and outwitted the defender before his left footed strike went in the far corner . Edingale were looking dangerous with every attack now and when Alex FALLON got to the edge of the box his right foot strike beat the keeper to make it 4-1 . His first goal for the club . The second half started and as expected Unity flew out the blocks and after a couple of near misses it was normal service resumed for Edingale as CHERRIE got the ball twisted the defender and hit a twenty yard left footer over the keeper and into the net to make it 5-1 . His second perfect hat-trick in as many weeks . Unity got one back when a goalmouth scramble was turned in from a yard out by BERRY making it 5-2 . CHERRIE wasnt done for the day though and after a perfect free kick into the box by Fallon he bought the ball down and tapped home from six yards and Adam CAIN put the seal on it with a couple of minutes remaining when Cherrie crossed for him to finish from close range ….. WILNECOTE QUEENS HEAD met WHITE LION and this clash was a good test for both teams who should be challenging for the title come the end of the season . After a delayed start while the pitch was repaired and made safe for the players the game got underway . Queens took charge of the possession and with some good passing football managed to work their way into Lions box on a few occasions . Lion however looked a threat on the counter-attack but could not create any clear chances as Queens defence stood strong . It was Queens who made the break through mid-way through the half as Smith and Greenwood linked up well down the right before Greenwood cut the ball back to SAVORY on the edge of the box , his first time strike beat the keeper and the defender on the line to put Queens 1-0 up . As the game progressed challenges became strong but yet fair for both teams , and with neither creating any more clear chances the half drew to a close . After the break the game continued in a similar fashion , with Queens attempting to retain possession and Lion threatening on the break . The Lion had to try something different and made a few changes mid-way through the half , one of these paid off as Diamond crossed to substitute MINSHULL , and as Queens defender miss-timed his clearance the ball dropped neatly for Minshull to fire home and bring the score level 1-1 . Shortly after Queens made their own changes , and as per previous games the benefit of bringing on quality substitutes paid off , D. Hill and Welsh coming off the bench to good effect . It was a burst of pace down the right from D. Hill which caused problems for the Lion defence , he played in SMITH who after a neat touch finished high into the net to put the Queens 2-1 up . Some more tough challenges came from the Lion as they became frustrated , but the referee dealt with the issues well only showing the yellow card a couple of times . As Lion pushed for another equaliser spaces opened up at the back , Queens used this to good effect as they took the ball from the keeper down the left side , Savory played the ball to Onions for a one-two and as the Lion keeper came out to collect , SAVORY pipped him to the ball with electric pace and slotted home to make the score 3-1 Queens . The game drew to a close shortly after , and Wilnecote Queens Head retain their unbeaten record and their position as league leaders …. DIVISION 4 saw DYNAMO SPORTS BAR dominate an under-strength POLESWORTH SPORTS & SOCIAL team , quickly gaining the lead within the first few minutes , then never looked like losing . By half time Dynamo found themselves 7-0 up and ended the game winning 14-1 , thanks to SEVEN goals from Tom MORRELL , four from Ben HARTMAN , and one each from S. MORRELL , Brian FARRAR and COXY ….. GLASCOTE SWIFTS hit WILNECOTE PRINCE for six with no reply running out easy 6-0 winners with Adam ROSE hitting FIVE of Glascotes goals and the other coming from Neil WOOD …. Bottom of the league FAZELEY TOWN RESERVES lost again , however a 4-0 score line shows improvement after the same TWO GATES UNITED RESERVES team who lead the division put twelve past them two weeks ago . WORRELL , JONES , COLES and ARNOLD scoring for Two Gates …. E.S GEORGE MEMORIAL CUP saw Division 4 minnows ANKERSIDE RANGERS go up against Premier Division WILNECOTE RED LION and the game was a lot closer than the score line suggests . Ankerside started well and looked tight and compact and after conceding a few half chances they had their first shot from Dan Whelan from the edge of the box which drifted just over . The game continued to be tight with Ankerside keeping a good shape and restricting Red Lion to half chances and few runs down the wing that came to nothing . Ankerside then had a clear cut chance as Whelan released Rich Tonks one on one only for the usually reliable Tonks to hit his effort straight at the Lion keeper and the chance had gone . Ankerside then went a goal down after failing to deal with a cross that Dayel CAVENEY netted and Ankerside to their credit only went in at half time 1-0 down . In the second half Ankerside started well and started to keep possession a bit more and managed to get on the front foot and drew level thanks to Tom PEGG and his persistence as he tackled the keeper and slid the ball in . Ankerside started to create a few more chances but then fell 2-1 down and then let in a third a few minutes later . Again to their credit Ankerside still kept going and got back in it again through a long range drive from Scott RAVENHILL and again the game was quite close until a mixture of sloppiness and tiredness set in and Ankerside let in three more in a bad twenty minute spell . Ankerside did get another one back through Ash EALES before letting in three more which left a harsh scoreline of 9-3 . CAVENEY completed his hatrick for the morning as did Adam DELANEY with goals for Gregg ALLEN , ROSS TONKS and a thunderbolt from Micheal CHETWYND with his first touch that broke the net for Red Lion to see them through …...... Division 4s HURLEY KINGS took WARTON CLUB from the league above all the way to extra time after being level at the end of normal time , but they didnt have enough in the end going down 2-1 . Hurley got battered by undefeated Warton Club for the full eighty five minutes and were 1-0 down but held out and in the last five minutes the Hurley manager pushed centre back Tom Pegg up to the attack for Tom to make a great pass to Jake SHEPPARD to convert his fourth goal of the season with a superb volley to lob the keeper . Extra time then proceeded with Warton Club taking the lead in the last ten minutes of the second half to hold out for the win . Hurley battled till the end but were knocked out of the cup with a very solid display …...... When Dan STEVENSON scored for Premier Division APPLEBY MAGANA inside the first five minutes against Division 3s SPORTS BAR ATHLETIC it was always going to be a long morning for Sports Bar , to their credit though Sports Bar never stopped working but couldnt stop a rampant Appleby scoring at regular intervals throughout the game to finish 13-1 winners . Danny TURNER scored five times whilst STEVENSON got four and Mitchell JORDAN bagged a brace along with goals each for James FISHER and Gavin COLEMAN ….. ELLISION ROSE BOWL CUP saw Division 2s ONE STOP SUPPLEMENTS keep their 100% record in tact after a game which consisted of contrasting performances in each half , the first half very frustrating followed by a brilliant second half where Supplements dominated from the kick off . A change of formation was implemented for the first half which caused Supplements more problems than Stonydelph , not helped with half of the team turning up after keeping absinthe , tequila and Sambuca in business the night before . If the Supplements manager was there to see some of the seasons best performers arrive being sick (Shirley)and rapping to no music in the car park (Francis and S Rowley) he would have expected a tough morning ahead . The first half offered nothing of interest or excitement , the closest chance coming to that of Stonydelph who hit the outside of the post from a poorly defended corner . Supplements striker Francis was the main danger in the first half playing as the big target man and winning everything in the air , but with nobody seeming to realise playing behind Francis and feeding off his headers would create one on one opportunities and his hard work came to nothing . Half time could not come quick enough and changes were made , and One Stop were awarded immediately when a nice cross from Roberts was met with a cool finish by FRANCIS . Francis could have netted his brace minutes later when he was put clean through and showing the pace of Emile Heskey he broke through one on one and blasted over . Then a nice cross by Gilbert was met with a miss-hit toe poke by S. ROWLEY to double Supplements lead on sixty minutes . Just two minutes later Francis was substituted claiming to have a bad knee , others may say it was the effect of the night before but nobody could moan as he had put in a proper good shift ! On seventy minutes ROBERTS got a well deserved goal , he had been causing problems on the wing since the start of the second half and finished coolly after another splendid cross by Shirley . The game was well and truly over in the last ten minutes when L. ROWLEY continued his fine form and goal scoring record when he met a simple cross by S. Rowley to tap in from two yards . S. Rowley could have got his second in the last minute but turned into Stonydelphs best defender by clearing the ball off the line , forgetting he was attacking a corner not defending . With a great second half performance the man of the match was narrowed down and put out to the team to decide with no fewer than five nominations including Mr Utility Wassall who played CDM , CB and LB , Sidaway who was very solid at the back and always looked in control , Roberts who chased and battled well first half and dominated the wing second and Francis who was a nuisance for sixty minutes but HADDOCK was the most outstanding player once again , using the ball to dominate midfield. Next week back to the priority of the league though for One Stop and if the second half performance is anything to go by then revenge is on its way to Belgrave after last seasons two defeats they inflicted on One Stop ….. POLESWORTH ROYAL OAK dished out double figures to Division 4s MERCIAN winning 10-0 …. Division 2s MAD DOG TATTOO were this week representing the TDSFL as they entered into the first round of the BIRMINGAHM COUNTY FA CUP and they were drawn out a home fixture against unbeaten AFC NORTHFEILD UNITED RESERVES who ply their trade in the Bromsgrove & District Football League . Knowing nothing of their opposition only that they were so far unbeaten this season Mad Dog Tattoo just went into the game hoping to continue their fine form of late having only lost once themselves up to now and hopeful of progressing in this cup . The signs looked good early on for Mad Dog as twice inside the first five minutes genuine chances were created but then spurned and this gave them the confidence they needed as they then continued to slice open at will a Northfield backline who obviously had not come up against such an attacking rampant side yet this season as they were at sixes and sevens and didnt have a clue how to deal with the threat being caused down the wings and into the two central strikers as the midfield of Mad Dog Tattoo were completely running the show . Dave GADSBY scored inside the first fifteen minutes after great work from his fellow strike partner Ryan Ford presented him with a chance but on twisting and swivelling to score the goal he proceeded to injure himself and hobbled off the pitch so an enforced early substitution was dealt on the Mad Dog management who then had to reshuffle and organise . Mad Dogs flow of play continued as they completely dominated the rest of the half and the game should have been put well to bed as a contest by the break and they were almost punished for not doing so as with the last kick of the half the Mad Dog keeper who had been a spectator for 44 minutes was called into action to brilliantly beat out a thunderbolt with a reflex save denying a certain goal and Mad Dog took their slender 1-0 lead into the break with them . The second half began and yet another enforced change was thrown on the Mad Dog management as Stu Dixon the wing wizard pulled up with problems with his knee so the substitution was called and as Mad Dog Tattoo waited for their sub and upon realising he had gone on the missing they had to continue for five minutes with ten men as a search party was sent out for Josh Heaton and he was safely found at the burger van at Anker Valley ordering himself a breakfast bap which he had to leave behind to rush back and take to the field which he wasnt very happy about after having wait ten minutes in a que just to place his order . Once on the pitch the excitement and rushing around for Heaton was obviously too much as his nose erupted into a nose bleed and the ref had to ask him to leave the field until it had stopped and no blood on show . So again Mad Dog continued with ten men for the next five minutes as Heaton recovered from his nose bleed but once given the all clear to come on he soon made a name for himself as with almost his first touch he glanced a throw in off his head into the far corner of the net to give Mad Dog a 2-0 lead . At 2-0 and coasting with half hour to go Northfield eventually woke up and began to peg back Mad Dogs and create chances and the defending became a bit desperate at times as silly free kicks were being given around the edge of the box , one of which was rather unlucky not to fly in when taking a deflection that went just the wrong side of the post but Mad Dogs were rattled and now under pressure themselves and for twenty minutes it was all Northfield as the shift in power was clear for all to see but Northfield for their cameo of possession and chances didnt make anything count and Mad Dog seemed to get their act together once again in the last ten minutes after riding that storm and again finished the game strongly creating a number of chances that another day would of gone in and the scoreline would of had a more creditable look than it finished at 2-0 . A win is a win though and on their first ever venture into the unknown Mad Dog Tattoo progress into the second round of the competition …..
