PREVIEW: Leicester City vs Tottenham Hotspur (Game-Week 18) Tottenhams Boxing Day fixture takes them to the King Power Stadium to face relegation threatened Leicester. Leicester who are rock bottom of the league table are winless in their last 12 games, lost 9 out of their previous 10 games and are 5 points from safety. Needless to say, the confidence in the Leicester camp is on an all time low. Spurs on the other hand have won 3 on the bounce (all competitions) after a disappointing home draw against Crystal Palace and currently sit 7th in the league table, just 4 points off the last Champions League spot. The confidence in the Spurs camp is high as the team is finally showing signs of adapting to Pochettinos philosophy after a somewhat start-stop beginning to the season. The corresponding league fixture was last played on 19th October, 2003 which Spurs won 1-2 thanks to goals from Mbulelo Mabizela and Frederic Kanoute. Paul Dickov was on target for Leicester. However, the last time Spurs played away to Leicester on 8th January, 2006, it ended in a disappointing 3-2 loss in the FA Cup. Having said that, Spurs are maturing as a team under Poch and having shown glimpses of their capabilities, are outright favourites to beat Leicester convincingly this time around. Today our prolific goal-keeper Hugo Lloris celebrates his 28th birthday and a win along with a clean sheet will be a perfect gift for him! Happy Birthday Hugo!! Interesting stats: * This will be the 100th time Spurs face Leicester (in all competitions). Of the previous 99 face-offs, Spurs have won 49 and Leicester have won 32. The remaining 18 have ended all square. * If picked today, it will be Harry Kanes 50th appearance for us. * Tottenham have played 76 games on Boxing Day, winning 32 out of them. Our last defeat on Boxing Day was in 2003 at Portsmouth. Current league form (last 6 games): Leicester : DLLLLL Tottenham : WWLDWW KO: 8.30 PM IST Telecast: The match will not be televised.
