PROPERTY DISPUTE LEADS TO SHOOTING: On Tuesday, Aug. 5, around 8:30 p.m., deputies from the Cherokee County Sheriffs Office were dispatched to a shooting with injuries at a home in the 100 block of Ingles Drive in Gaffney. Upon their arrival, officers found a 68-year old man with a gunshot wound to his buttocks, a Cherokee County Sheriffs Office report states. Deputies interviewed another man, who identified himself as the shooter. According to the shooter indicated the two men were family, but had an ongoing dispute over property lines. The shooter thought the subject was retrieving a gun from his pants and he shot the victim, according to the report. The victim was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
