PSA: How you act is how you shall be perceived. If you dont want ppl having a misconception of who you really are, then take inventory of how you act. Check and see what you are projecting and showing others. Today, we had a meeting to go to. There was this one lady that came in late. The whole time while the speaker was talking, she was also talking. The speaker addressed how we are to work together to make our jobs easier. She stated that since we work in a professional setting, then that is what we are, professionals. She then went on to say that its best not to always try to get the last word in when you have a disagreement. Then the other lady said, Well, Im gonna get what I have to say off my chest because it made her feel better. Then the speaker told her Do you realize what happens to your body each time you blow off steam or give ppl a piece of your mind? Your blood pressure increases and toxins are released in your body. Ppl that often get angry actually cut years from their life. The speaker then said that when a person is getting an attitude you dont have to go rail for rail with them. When you are calm and they are going off, what does that make them? I said it makes them look like a fool. She said correct. But if youre both going back and forth then what? I said then you have two fools. This is a big revelation because ppl often say this is just how I am. Again, its not. Its how they learned to be in their environment. Your life is hid in Christ. Therefore if you act foolish, ppl are going to see you as a fool. If you act thuggish, ppl are going to see you as a thug. If you act like a lady or a gentleman, you will be treated as such. Ppl look at races and they have so many stereotypes, but sadly there are too many ppl perpetuating the stereotype with this false belief that they have to be like that to keep it real. They falsely believe they have to be mouthy to get their point across. All that does is make them look uneducated and ill-mannered. Change and growth comes from within. Its not about what ppl say to you, its whether or not you give them the power to act out of your character. Stay blessed FB.
