PUBLIC CAN FILE ONLINE COMPLAINTS WITH OC ombudsman.gov.pg ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By Troy Taule Dec 5, 2014. PNG Loop The public can now file online complaint forms with the Ombudsman Commission following the launching of its new website service today. Without this service, the public used to fill the complaint forms and submit with attachments to the OC. The website will also help the public to access to important information. The launching of the website was witnessed by stakeholders including Transparency International PNG (TIPNG), representatives from the Auditor-General’s office and the Legal Training Institute (LTI). The website which was designed by Squad Limited allows the public to be kept informed on the roles and functions of the Ombudsman Commission. The public can view different categories including; events, publications, news and legislative review discussion papers. In his remarks, Chief Ombudsman Rigo Lua described the launching as “making the job of the Ombudsman Commission a bit easier”. He said the public which included members of parliament will now be better informed of the Ombudsman and its functions. He said it was the right of every citizen to want to know about issues that affected them and the website would greatly help with this. “The internet works wonders these days and through the website, people can now get information and learn. Information is power. It took a while, but I am extremely delighted that this website is up and running,” said Lua. The website address is ombudsman.gov.pg
