Pakistan added 101 new photos to the album Khyber Pakthunkhwa | خیبر پختونخوا — with Anmol Zindagi and 124 others. Khyber Pakthunkhwa is a province of Pakistan, traditionally home to the Pashton community as well as smaller communities of Chitralis, Baloch, Hazarawal, Tajiks, Afghans and Uzbeks. The province is also home to the famous Kalasha tribe in Chitral who still retain their ancient Animist/Shamanist religion. The province borders Gilgit–Baltistan to the north, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab to the east, Balochistan to the south and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Afghanistan to the west. The provincial capital and largest city is Peshawar. The name Khyber Pakthunkhwa translates into Land of Pakhtuns in the Pashto language. Prior to 2008, the province was named NWFP or Northwest Frontier Province. The province is home to over 1 million Afghan refugees who escaped after the Soviet invasion and against during the American occupation.
