Strange Trees Location: Blackburn - Billinge Wood - Crow Wood Type: Environmental Manifestation Date / Time: Current Further Comments: Sounds of footsteps can be heard in the wood, even when no one is immediately visible. The trees are also said to dramatically change appearance. Young Child Running Location: Blackburn - Entwistle Station - Entwistle Halt Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: Mid twentieth century Further Comments: A child running around the fields was once commonly seen here just prior to World War Two, even though he was killed on the nearby railway tracks as World War One raged. Galloping Horses Location: Blackburn - Mill Hill area Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: Late twentieth century Further Comments: A small pack of ghostly mares are reported to run in this area. Victorian Location: Blackburn - Old Infirmary Type: Haunting Manifestation Date / Time: Unknown - 2000s? Further Comments: Cleaning staff in this building are reported to occasionally see figures through doorways, although one member of staff came face to face with a Victorian man wearing a top hat.
