Pardon me a minute while I dust off my soapbox... Flipping thru the channels Thursday as I ate my lunch, I landed on C-Span. I paused to see if the issue being considered was going to directly affect me. The "farm bill" was on the floor again and seeing representatives about to come to blows I watched. It seems to get it passed in time for the weekend, the bill was divided into 2 parts and SNAP (foodstamps) were tossed aside because it was too hard to get people to vote against feeding poor people. Now I get a small allotment of food stamps each month, and I will be the first to admit fraud is rampant, and I have little doubt there are many receiving them that should not. However, throwing the working poor, elderly and disabled under the bus because you do not want to miss your tee time is not the answer. If you feel the program needs to be cut back or dealt with, then roll up your sleeves, get off your asses and deal with it. It is why we elected you. I can only hope they deal with the issue when they return, but I will not hold my breath.
