Pastor Rons Daily Devotional: Monday, First Week of Lent Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me ... Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me. (Matthew 25:34-36 & 40) Holy God, you are the root of our righteousness... our right-ness. Out of your holiness, you call us to wholeness. You visit us in one another through integrity of heart. From the center of mystery you reveal your presence as flesh-in-action. You draw the thread of communion from being to being to being, and weave a garment meant to clothe all of human life. No display of devotion can replace the embrace of you. We cannot dodge dedication with words that flower the power of love.... Your knowing sharpens us to focus. Inexhaustible fountain of truth, let the waters that stirred life at Baptism carry us along the ways of faith, usher us into the halls of hope and flood our hearts with love. Amen. For Your Consideration: I am overwhelmed by the hunger and poverty of the world around me. Where do I begin? I begin with what I have ... I begin with myself. Grace for the long haul keeps me faithful in the face of limitation.
