Pentateuch Symbols The symbols are agglomerated. That is, the symbol for metal is a combination of the symbol for hard and stone. The symbols also are neither strictly nouns nor verbs, but sort of a Tarot-like combination of the two It should also be noted that some symbols are from the context of the original novel, and do not strictly correspond to our planet. For instance, in the book, water came before dry land. Mankind had to make houseboats to live on. This is why the glyph for house is a combination of the glyphs for bed and boat. Glass and Beltempest were deities, with their mates Selfinn (Bride of Beltempest) and Verdrinn (Bride of Glass) The symbols make very occult looking talismans or symbols for inscribing on magickal artifacts. I have made a couple of minor changes. The symbol I have labeled make love was labeled in the original as bride. That symbol does appear to be a combination of make and love, and in any event is more gender neutral. In the same way, the symbol I have labeled lover was originally woman. The symbols for computer, magic, cloth and girl child are my own inventions. As the vocabulary is limited, you will have to improvise your own symbols as well. You can now try to puzzle out my own glyph, as seen on the border on the left. Look + wander, enlightenment plural, of, universe. Seeker of knowledge of the universe The Project Rho symbol means Making science plus magick. Increase plus knowledge means science. And plus assemble means add. [1] In the beginning there was less than void, and not before there was void did things begin; for things do require a void just as fish require water in which to swim. ( One period. Begin less-than void comma, and not-before void all-things begin semicolon; because all-things need void like fish need water swim period. ) [2] The first thing that began was God, the lord of all things that are and ever shall be; save of the void whence he sprang - for all things both large and small must one day return to naught. ( Two period. One thing begin God God of all-things begin from/to end comma, not of void begin semicolon; because all-things large small must one day end void period. ) [3] God was a babe that slept in his own burial vault, and his youth stretched from the beginning of time to the middle of time. ( Three period. God child bed grave comma, and child begin from/to all-thing day period. [4] The babe awoke and made stars for his playthings, and likewise for playthings did he make the suns, the moons, and the rainbows. ( Four period. Child awake and make star plural because need company comma, and like because need company make sun plural moon plural and rainbow plural period. ) [5] And God slept for a time, and in his great sleep he forgot all the things that he had made; and the stars did wander off like spiderlings into the depths of the void. ( Five period. And God sleep day plural night and sleep large God forgot fall all-things make semicolon; and star plural wander like spider small plural fall void period. ) [6] And as God slept his great sleep he dreamed a dream, and the dream was with God from the middle of his youth to its end. ( Six period. And God sleep dream large comma, and dream of God from middle child to end child period. ) [7] God awoke for the second time, the stars that were his playthings had all been devoured by the dark void, and though he searched the void from its beginning to end, he could not discover the fate of the wanderers. ( Seven period. God awake two star plural God need company devour dark void comma, and though look begin from/to end of void comma, not see fate of wander period. ) [8] And so God made young small stars, and med them like lanterns to be placed in the void, and he tethered the stars so they could not wander away to fall into the void. ( Eight period. And so God make star child small plural and make like lantern plural place in void and bound star plural not wander void fall period. )
