Perspectives on African American Women in the Arts April 10, 2014 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM AT&T Gallery Three of Detroit’s foremost women in the arts: Shirley Woodson Reid, Carole Morisseau, and Stephanie James will use the Museum’s current exhibition, Point of View: African American Art Masters from the Elliot and Kimberly Perry Collection, as a backdrop for an invigorating discussion about the history and current status of African American women in the visual arts. Moderated by Sabrina Nelson, another of Detroit’s fine artists, this discussion is sure to inform and inspire. Aspiring artists, young and old, male and female, are sure to gain insight into the realities of this fascinating field. The panel discussion will be held inside the AT&T Gallery where Point of View is on exhibit.
