Peter Ulysses Charbonneau, 62, of 710 Hancock Rd., Williamstown, MA, died peacefully at his home on March 18, 2014. Peter was born in Douglas, AZ, on December 24, 1951 the son of Dr. Ulysses Charbonneau and Dr. Manon ( Pettit) Charbonneau. He was a graduate of Colorado Academy. He received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado. He served in the US Navy from 1970-1976 as a missile technician on the submarine, USS Nathaniel Greene. Peter worked at Williams College as a Senior Network Administrator for the past 16 years. Prior to that he worked at GE and Ford Aerospace. Peter was the beloved husband, for 36 years, of Karen Lee (Schmittberger) Charbonneau and father of Megan Charbonneau of Pittsfield, MA, Lindsay Charbonneau of North Adams, MA and Caitlin McKinnon, Abbe Charbonneau, Zachary Charbonneau, Shannon Charbonneau, all of Williamstown and Debra Crane of Enfield, CT. He was the proud grandfather, “Pop”, of Jacob Charbonneau, Jace Dickhaus, Eamonn Maloney and Amanda, Anthony and Andrew Crane. He was a loving presence to many other children as a foster dad. Peter also leaves his sister, Cherie MacGillivray of Santa Fe, NM; his two brothers, Stephen Charbonneau of Santa Fe, NM and Michael Charbonneau of Littleton, CO; as well as his dearly beloved cousin, Jill Heine of Medina, OH. Funeral services will take place Monday at 1:00 P.M. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals ,West Chapels, 521 West Main St. North Adams, Ma. Calling Hours are at the funeral home are Sunday from 4-6p.m. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Care of the Berkshires through the Flynn and Dagnoli Funeral Home, 521 West Main Street, North Adams, MA.
