Phil Mickelson has confirmed he will reprise his partnership with Keegan Bradley for the upcoming Ryder Cup at Gleneagles. The pair joined forces in Medinah two years ago, beating Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia in Fridays foursomes, Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell in Fridays fourballs and Lee Westwood and Luke Donald in Saturdays foursomes. Having helped the United States into a dominant position going into the final day, Mickelson and Bradley then lost their singles matches on Sunday to Justin Rose and McIlroy respectively as the hosts ultimately fell to a stunning defeat. However, Mickelson confirmed on Wednesday he will play alongside Bradley again this week as the US seek to win the Ryder Cup on foreign soil for the first time since 1993. I would like to improve my record. Thats certainly a goal. It doesnt take much to improve my winning percentage, Ill say that, added the 44-year-old, who has won 14 of his 38 Ryder Cup matches. But Ive got a good partner, obviously Im going to play again with Keegan. I dont think Im letting go of any secrets here. If youve noticed, weve played together these first few rounds [of practice] and we seem to have a good partnership. He brings out some of my best golf. Im very optimistic that I can improve on my record. But again, were taking on a very strong team on their home soil. Its going to be a challenge. Bradley, who will feature in only his second Ryder Cup this weekend, secured a place in Tom Watsons team as a wildcard pick along with Hunter Mahan and Webb Simpson. The 28-year-old revealed Mickelson had been the motivation behind the original decision to link up, and expressed confidence that they can succeed again with his experienced partner in strong form ahead of Fridays fourballs. This was his idea before Medinah. He came to me and said: Were going to play together and were going to win, Bradley added I was only in my second year on tour. We just match up well - I let him talk, decide things and we just seem to match up. If I hit a bad shot, he can chip it or pitch it. Hes going to get it up and down. Im so pumped Ive got such a good partner. Hes playing great and hes motivated to win the Ryder Cup.
