Philadelphia Conference Photo Night Tonight: Tribute to Bunky: Images by John Bunky deVecchis 7pm at The Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz 738 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia Please join us for this special Photo Night on June 7, 2013 at the Clef Club in Philadelphia. The night will open with a photographic tribute to Bunky starting at 7pm. Following the presentation there will be a live jazz performance. John Bunky deVecchis, a native Philadelphian, captured the sounds of Philly jazz scene for more than 25 years. Toting his Leica rangefinder camera, Bunky would frequent the local jazz clubs to make images using only ambient light. His black and white images capture the essence of the performers in their surroundings. Musicians who played at Zanzibar Blue, Chris Jazz Café, Ortliebs Jazzhaus, and the Clef Club were familiar with his artistic work. It is a beautiful alliance of my two passions, jazz and photography, said Bunky. The images featured in the presentation are part of his series Downtown Sounds.
