Philippians 4:4 Songs in the Night THOUGHT FOR TODAY: I - TopicsExpress

Philippians 4:4 Songs in the Night THOUGHT FOR TODAY: I delight greatly in the LORD; and my soul rejoices in my God. Isaiah 61:10a (NIV) When I wake in the morning, I hear the birds singing. They are actually singing in the dark. They must be anticipating the coming of the light. In challenging times, we pray for better days ahead. But we needn’t wait for “better days” to be joyful. God wants us to be joyful today. Good times and troubling times are not exclusive of each other. They can happen at the same time. In the midst of our darkest hour there is light, and in the midst of our brightest moment there is always shadow, trying to invade our happiness. If I wait until everything is going my way to be happy. I will have a long, long wait. But if I choose today to be joyful and peaceful right where I am, in the midst of whatever is happening, I can have a peace that passes understanding. Jesus promised I could. Do what the birds do and start to sing God’s praises now. Rejoice in the Lord! PRAYER: Dear Jesus, teach me to experience your joy no matter what comes. Amen.
