Philippians Chapter 4: 10 I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that once again you renewed your care for me. You were, in fact, concerned about me but lacked the opportunity to show it. 11. I don’t say this out of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. 12. I know both how to have a little, and I know how to have a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content—whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. 13. I am able to do all things through Christ who strengthens me. 14. Still, you did well by sharing with me in my hardship. This has been a rewarding year for me and my family but in plenty and in times of need, I have learnt important things. If you ever go around a property which has been burned flat, you can learn something about the occupant and his living conditions. Or if you go around an abandoned property, there is a lot to learn about who lived there. Similarly if you go around a well cared for property or home, there is much to learn about the owner or occupant. After enduring and enjoying 365 days of afflictions, blessings and trials, there must be something that we learned. In the above passage St. Paul said that he learned to be contented in whatever circumstances he faced. Life is a school and we are here to be taught and to learn from lifes lessons. I have learned a lot about myself and about people, I have learned a lot about things, I have learned a lot about the Devil, I have learned a lot about God and I am learning how to apply that knowledge in order to be the complete person God intends for me to be. Merry Christmas to all of you. See you again by Gods grace on Jan 1 2015.
