Picture from yesterday when I used my Wal bass for a show. In 1993 I bought a beautiful MKII with great wood in a shop in Holland (all my savings went into it) but after a couple of months I foolishly sold it because I was in a Level 42 mood and the Wal wasnt in that sort of league of sound. The bass ended up in the hands of a bassplayer who hasnt used it in years and it stayed in its case for years in the basement. I never met him in person but through family I informed him that I wanted to buy it back but he refused (he didnt need the money and certain intoxicating demons took their toll). The bass remained unused (such a waste) and I was unable to get it back although it remains very special to me. This week I was informed that the owner passed away so I wrote his daughter a message (she doesnt know me) and I explained my situation and wished her strength after his passing. She got the message and said that she wanted to keep the bass for now but if she ever changed her mind shed be in touch. Glad that I got my message through and I hope one day Ill get that special one back. Until then really pleased with this one.
