Pincha Mayurasana to Chaturanga: a transition which I first tried - TopicsExpress

Pincha Mayurasana to Chaturanga: a transition which I first tried out 4 months ago. Lifting my forearms up and instantly landing back on my palms was impossible whilst upside down. My forearms felt heavy as lead and pinned to the floor, they could not move at all. Had the transition working in my mind again and again, dissecting the actual move back, the position of the arms, flexion of the feet and ankles, the knees, the hips, the engagement of the lower abs and lumbar spine. Shyly, I summoned the courage to recently revisit it, forearms felt they could actually move just a bit. Repetition is always a friend. Gradually, after working on it for a week I found my way there. It surely does not work the first time, nor the second or third, but playing it again and again in your mind, it slowly becomes part of you, saying am possible. Even though the body might not be ready for it yet, the mind always leads, the body follows. This transition appears in the second part of this short video. Keep practicing fellow yogis, and enjoy the journey, as always the learning is in the process. Many thanks to the awesome Laura Kenny Kasperzak for this inspiration xo
