Please forgive the indulgence but whilst we are on the subject of family, I would like to mention Joseph Isherwood. Joe came up in conversation with Mr & Mrs Chisholm this evening as they finished their Sunday lunch at Mitchells of Tattenhall. Joe was my uncle, he left the British Army and sought to open a pub in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. One of my fondest memories is cooking a burrito in the pubs kitchen then working my socks off washing pots to help Joe get finished off. He was teaching me to ski at the time - he wont mind me telling you that I am now quite accomplished at skiing, all thanks to him. Joe has sadly passed away, but is in my thoughts most days.
