Please help save our rail line state wide as they are about to come under attack from a group called rail trail australia..Copy and paste to email and send to these 3 [email protected]@berejiklian.minister.nsw.gov.au...Monaro@parliament.nsw.gov.au..Please send to George Souris,Gladys Bererjiklian and John Barilaro at [email protected],[email protected]@berejiklian.minister.nsw.gov.au Please feel free to add to this if you like It is sad to see that Gundagia Council will be pushing for a rail trail starting at the Gundagia Railway Station...A heritage rail group already exist there and has been in operation for a few years.These people have put alot of time and effort into the Gundagia Station Precinct in building up the museum side of the station.Many visitors pass through the station precinct..it is a valuable tourist heritage station and the heritage group like all rail groups have a plan to run a train from there one day.One only has to look at the other rail groups currently operating trains,take a look at the Puffing Billy Railway at Begrave Victoria to see what passion people have for old railway workings...and there are many more.Please do not do to New South Wales like victoria has done to there rail heritage..I am also a member of The Friends Of Bombala Railway and if this rail trail goes ahead it will open pandora’s box and all we have worked for will be lost..I hope that common sense prevails and Rail Heritage Groups who have been set up at railway stations across the state will be at least ask there opinion or involved in the process of change..Australian Railtrail must not be given an open cheque book to do as they like...https://railtrails.org.au/trail-descriptions.It would also appear that grant money for rail trails is more readily available than money for Rail Heritage groups who work hard for every dollar they make...Thank You.Allen Simpson,45 Maybe st,Bombala.NSW.2632
