Point 2 of 10 Had I known 20 years ago what I know now, I would have written ‘My Budget Mate’ way back then. I assumed (wrongly) that everyone had a comprehensive budget. It was not until I started research for my book that I discovered the budgets people said they had were, at best – savings plans – in preparation for big bills such as registrations and insurances, and at worst – spending plans – where they were saving to spend on some ‘want’ they had. Why don’t most people have a comprehensive budget? Because they have never been taught about money management and financial freedom – the prerequisites to having a good, sound, comprehensive budget! This book – ‘My Budget Mate’ – fills the gap that has existed for far too long. Have a look on my web site – mybudgetmate – under ‘Testimonials’ as to what Chris Phillips jadefinance and Loren Cowling cashflowconfidence.au have to say. The reason why ‘My Budget Mate’ is such a great educational book is that, not only is everything explained in detail, but also, it is written as a workbook, where you answer questions and do a number of activities that help with your understanding of budgeting, in the book. MY BUDGET MATE ‘teaches budgeting by learning through understanding’. Keep watching this space for Point 3 of 10. John R Small (author of ‘My Budget Mate’).
