Police are appealing for information after two men were seriously assaulted at a home in Murwillumbah yesterday morning. About 4.30am (Monday 7 April 2014), emergency services were called to a home on Quarry Road, where they discovered two men, aged 46 and 48, suffering serious head injuries and stab wounds. Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Local Area Command launched an investigation into the incident. Both men were treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to Tweed Heads Hospital. They were later transferred to Gold Coast Hospital, where they remain in the Intensive Care Unit. The younger man has also undergone surgery as he sustained a serious stab wound through the eye. The pair is now believed to be in a critical condition in hospital. A crime scene was established at the home and examined by specialist forensic officers and detectives. Police are continuing their inquiries and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
