Police are investigating after a service station in Sydney’s west was robbed early this morning. About 4am (Tuesday 6 May 2014), a man entered the service station on Cabramatta Road, Bonnyrigg. It’s alleged while the man was buying a soft drink, he sprayed an unknown substance in the console operator’s face, causing his eyes to sting. He demanded cash, and began pulling on the till until it fell on the ground. The man then made off with money and a bottle of soft drink. Police from Fairfield Local Area Command were called and arrived a short time later; securing a crime scene that was examined by forensic specialists. The console operator did not seek medical attention. Investigators would like to speak to a man described as being of Asian appearance, with a medium build. He was wearing a green fluorescent work shirt under a grey hooded jacket and dark pants at the time. Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://www1.police.nsw.gov.au/. Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence. We remind people they should not report crime information via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
