Ponder this: Next time youre amazed at your own good deeds remember the story of Prophet Ibraaheem عليه سلام and how he built the Kabah! The scholars use these words in order to make us realize the truth behind things. خليل الرحمان يبني بيت الرحمان يخاف أن لا يقبل منه فيقول ربنا تقبل منا انك انت السميع العليم The Khaleel (intimate friend ie Ibraaheem) of ar-Rahmaan (Allaah) builds the House of ar-Rahmaan (the Kabah) and is fearful this (good deed) wont be accepted from him, and he says: O our Lord accept from us (this deed of ours) verily you are the All-Hearing and the All-Knowing (Soorah al-Baqrah) Yaa SubhaanAllaah! Yet we do small deeds here and there and think we have attained Taqwa! May Allaah have mercy on us. Ameen!
