Popped past the library today to restock my books to find out that Annette, the lady who started my library reading back in 1987 courtesy of the Mobile Library Van, is retiring in the coming weeks. 27 years of serving Werribee, a well-earned and deserved retirement. We had a quick chat about the changes and how the librarys grown since those days of the old library on the Freeway, when I used to borrow cassettes (she laughed at that). Shes the nicest lady, always says hi to me when Im there and asks about how Marde Bevan and Mum are doing. I took Toby to the library a month or so ago and Annette was there, and I told Toby about how Annette helped Dadda find books when he was a little boy. After the last 3 weeks and all thats been going on it took this news to get me teary :(
