Populism has returned! UPND president Hakainde Hichilema has promised to restore the food FRA and fuel subsidies scrapped by the Government if he is elected into power. Featuring on Kitwe based Radio Ichengelo’s Face to Face, Mr Hichilema says, "subsidies are a life blood [of the country], the government has removed the subsidies for its selfish benefits". (Source : Zambian Watchdog) I suppose it is one way of being elected. But is it good for Zambians to promise things that breed eternal dependency on the State?
