Position Opening: Dept. Chair, Univ. of Missouri Department Chair Department of Health Psychology School of Health Professions University of Missouri The Department of Health Psychology at the University of Missouri (MU) invites applications and nominations for Chair of the department to begin July 1, 2014. Successful candidates will be at the rank of Associate or Full Professor (clinical or tenure track) with a PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or equivalent from an APA-approved program, and will specialize in rehabilitation psychology, neuropsychology, health psychology, and/or pediatric psychology. Candidates will be Missouri licensure-eligible, with a strong history of research and/or clinical service and professional leadership, and a commitment to the highest standards of faculty engagement, mentorship, scholarship and professional activity. Previous academic administrative experience is preferred. As part of the School of Health Professions in the MU Healthcare System, the MU Department of Health Psychology has a long tradition of excellence in clinical services, research, and training in psychological services based in medical settings, and particularly neuropsychology, rehabilitation psychology, health psychology, and pediatric psychology. The department’s psychologists are well-established as the sole providers of comprehensive rehabilitation psychology and neuropsychology services across the lifespan in central Missouri. The pediatric faculty participates in multidisciplinary patient care and professional training at the MU Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders (thompsoncenter.missouri.edu/). The faculty’s research programs drive and are derived from our state-of-the-science clinical services and have consistently garnered federal grant funding. The department provides clinical and research post-doctoral training opportunities and is a primary training site for an APA-approved internship program that was recently reaccredited through 2019 (psychologytraining.va.gov/columbiamo/).
