Post WW2 thousands of brilliant scientists Hitler had working for him were basically auctioned off between several countries, mainly the United States and Russia. These scientists who worked on some of Hitlers most advanced technologies and military capabilities included many of the worlds leading aerospace, mechanical, and nuclear engineers (some of whom even went on to create the first atomic and hydrogen bombs) In the 50s the U.S. had brought over hundreds of German scientists who worked in secret in Area 51 on the U-2 bomber project, and Russia had their own German scientists working for them as well. One thing I find pretty cool is that in the Korean war, Russian made MiG-15 jet fighters faced off against U.S. f-86 jet fighters, both planes completely engineered and designed by former Nazi scientists.
