This position supports the administration of the precertification process in compliance with various laws and regulations, while adhering to company policy and procedures. Fundamental Components: The Inbound/Outbound Queue Associate: * Screens phone, fax, or electronic requests for authorization of medical services * Performs outbound calls to healthcare service providers to obtain all of the appropriate clinical documentation required by the Prior Authorization nurses * Maintains documentation accuracy * Communicates with internal and external clinical professionals * Sedentary work involving significant periods of sitting, talking, hearing, keyboarding in a typical office environment BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired: 2-4 years’ experience as a medical assistant, office assistant or other clinical experience. EDUCATION The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent experience.
