Potent pointers for recognizing your natural state of unconditional awareness (from Jackson Peterson): Stand up and notice the placement of your feet. Make sure the position of your feet is natural and stable. Now here is the key instruction: take one slight step in the direction of being slightly closer to where you actually are standing. Likewise our aware knowing, our natural state, is already in its original posture of simply knowing. It cant get closer to its current condition of being aware and knowing. Now close your eyes. Open your eyes and with your eyes fully open for five seconds, decide to begin seeing. Did seeing start then? Or was seeing already in progress? Do the same with hearing. Notice some sounds and then decide to start hearing. Or was hearing already In progress? With your eyes open and seeing, start noticing the visual objects around you. While noticing these visual objects, decide to be aware of them. Did awareness start when you decided or was awareness already in progress while you were noticing the visual objects? While you are aware of what you are aware of, when you are ready, start becoming aware of what you are already aware of. Was that secondary effort necessary? Was any effort necessary? How much closer can you get to where you already are?
