“Power Africa” is President Obama’s $7billion initiative to bring electrical power to sub-Saharan Africa in an effort to help modernize the continent and better connect it with the rest of the world. Two things I would like to address (1) There’s no mention of the cost that comes with this “generous” offer – all I know is, you don’t just give out billions of dollars, just because…(2) Why these specific countries: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria and Tanzania? How were they selected? I don’t think a country like Ghana or Nigeria even deserves this “AID” – the basic infrastructures are there for these African giants, it’s about getting politicians (not leaders) to do what is obvious. This goes back to my first point – I believe you are only building in these countries, because you know you can get your hands in already established pockets. If you ask me, there are other countries in Africa that need this “Power Africa” program more, but because you are not too sure about your return in investment, you’d rather not take the RISK. I believe this whole idea of “Power Africa” can be executed without money from the U.S government. I have a lot to add, but I think it’s quite clear where I’m heading with this…Divine Muragijimana Mainza Hatembo, Fiifi Kay, Faida Aliki Cho, Sduduzo Ka-Mbili, Dziffa Akua, Nana Mr.Kingdoms Poku, Diane Littles, Kevin L.
