Prayer for Today....... God of might and power, You have brought us yet through another week and we are grateful to be here and to share Your grace with the less hopeful. As we look back over the past six days it may be that in spite of our pledges we did not do everything we promised and we did not go everywhere You sent us in service. We pray that as You lend us breath in this week coming we will get out of our comfort zones, from the highways of popularity and publicity, cameras and media and go into the dusty lanes and byways where only angels will see and take record of our witness to the unlovable and unreachable. Burn our hearts with that burden of love for souls and grant us the skills to captivate ears too depressed to listen. Put into our hands both physical and spiritual bread for the hungry and destitute. Give us clothes for the naked backs that we also want You to cover with your robe of righteousness. And as we meet physical needs this week may minds be opened to the reality of salvation and a country of bliss where affliction shall not rise a second time. Thank You for the power of the cross, for saving grace and the certainty of Your coming. Bless us as we seek to glorify Your name; in Jesus’ name. Amen.~R.b. Seivwright(Lives in Kingston, Jamaica)
