Premier League: No to Alnwick by-pass Enquiries to the Premier - TopicsExpress

Premier League: No to Alnwick by-pass Enquiries to the Premier League on Monday regarding the potential of an emergency goalkeeper loan brought confirmation that any request would be refused on the grounds that United have two fit registered keepers. With both Tim Krul and Rob Elliot now set to miss the rest of this month, rookie custodian Jak Alnwick made an unexpected debut in senior football against Chelsea. Aside from him, United included teenage trio Freddie Woodman, Brendan Pearson and Paul Woolston in the PL squad list, along with the injured Ben Smith. Its Karl Darlow though who counts as Newcastles second fit custodian - despite the fact he cant actually play for his parent club due to the terms of his loan. Signed from Nottingham Forest in August but loaned back to the Championship side - Darlow wasnt on Uniteds PL player list, unlike fellow Forest signing Jamaal Lascelles. And answering questions at the fan forum in October, a United spokesman said: “the club are delighted to have secured both Jamaal and Karl Darlow and while they will be big assets to the squad in future it was not true that they could be recalled from their current loan deals until the end of the 2014/15 season.” THE MAGPIE
