President Dwight David Eisenhower raised taxes to about 94% to pay - TopicsExpress

President Dwight David Eisenhower raised taxes to about 94% to pay for WWII, but George Bush told you wars were for free. Now we Democrats are suppose to fix this for you in 8 years with the same low tax rates Bush put in place (if congress had its way. We managed to get a small increase in taxes.) If you are going to elect a president who likes to start as many wars as possible then you get to pay for them. They are not free. We had to fight hard to get back to tax rates that would pay for interest on the wars your party wanted and our President was against. When we will we raise taxes enough to pay for the debt created by those wars? If you dont like taxes dont elect people who start wars, and then blame people who end them.
