President Jonathan appoints Osunyikanmi DG of TAC President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi as the new Director- General and Chief Executive Officer of the Technical Aid Corps (TAC). According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, Osunyikanmi’s appointment takes immediate effect, and he is to succeed Ambassador Mamman Daura, whose tenure as DG of the Technical Aid Corps expired in June. The statement also said Osunyikanmi’s appointment is in furtherance of President Jonathan’s commitment to strengthen the Directorate’s institutional and operational capacity. Osunyikanmi was until his appointment Special Adviser to the President on International Relations. A native of Ile-Oluji in Ondo State, Dr. Osunyikanmi holds a doctorate degree in Political science. He previously served in several capacities including Special Adviser to the Governor of Ondo State on Intergovernmental Affairs and Multilateral Relations (2009-2010) and Commissioner for Education, Ondo State (2010). The Technical Aid Corps is a Foreign Policy mechanism established in 1987, to deliver Technical Manpower Assistance to the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.
