Press Release sent from CHASE GUTHRIE For Immediate Release: Supporters, Round 2 of the Northwoods GP series was held on May 26th at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. The weather was a perfect and I was looking forward to a great day of racing. I raced two classes on the day that I will be completing in throughout the 2013 season, Supermoto Heavy (asphalt only) and Supermoto Dirt. In the supermoto heavy class I qualified 2nd less than .1 off of pole. In the first of two main events I got off the line poorly and found myself in third position after the first turn. I made a quick pass around the outside in the 3rd turn and moved up to 2nd and set after the leader. After a couple of laps stalking the leader I was able to go deeper on the brakes into a 90 degree left hander and move into the lead. After that I put my head down and opened up a decent gap and pulled of the victory. In the second main event I got off the line great and pulled the holeshot and settled into a good pace in the opening laps. Though I set a good pace I was only able to keep second place at bay enough to not allow a passing opportunity. The lack of a gap bit me when I made the wrong choice when I caught a group of lappers at the end of the front straight. I moved left to get around them and they moved left to let me through. I had to scrub a tremendous amount of speed off to avoid a collision and that allowed the 2nd place rider to slide around and take the lead. I would give chase showing a wheel multiple times but I would come home second at the end of the race. In the supermoto dirt class I dominated qualifying grabbing the pole with a 7 second advantage. I was laying it on the line in qualifying after missing the pole in my other class. My ability to push hard in the dirt trusting my Metzeler tires allowed me to gain serious time. Both main events in this class were mine right from the start. I pulled great starts in both races and was able to put in consistent laps and come away with wins in both mains. Next Scheduled Events: 6/15-6/17 Lightning On The Wolf Pro/ Am Shawano, WI 6/21-6/22 USA Pro Supermoto Chicago, IL 6/23 MI Supermoto Rd 1 Clio, MI Thanks for your support, Chase Guthrie
