Thanks :) In celebration of Womens History Month, Western Connecticut State University will host a unique art exhibit in the Ruth Hass Library of their Midtown Campus at 181 White St in Danbury CT. The fascinating, multimedia sculpture exhibit, fittingly titled, MAMA, was created by Erin Zaffis, a labor and delivery nurse and alumni of WCSUs nursing program. The exhibit honors the mother archetype and explores themes like creation, evolution and our relationship to Mother Earth. Erin will be giving a talk on March 11th titled, Birth as a Creative Process, in which she will discuss how she used birth as a metaphor and guide to creating the exhibit, and also why choice and autonomy in childbirth is a womens rights issue. The talk will be held in the atrium of the Ruth Hass Library, the event and viewing of the exhibit from March 1st-30th are free and open to the public.
