Although, those who are actual journalists, never demand any such undue preferences Non-Journalists, with Press Stickers, fighting with traffic Jawans and demanding immunity from challan is a common sight in on Andaman Road. It has been seen that some people, who have no link with media, put bigger stickers to confuse public and police. The Traffic Department must launch a special drive to nail people who misuse such stickers. To deal with this the IP Division must ban all such ‘Press’ stickers in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and issue certified ‘Press’ Stickers only to registered media organizations. Such stickers by IP division with Holograms, will also automatically check misuse and bring discipline on roads. Such Approved Stickers will also make it easy for Police Department to differentiate between genuine and fake media persons. Port Blair, Aug 04: Nearly one year back the former Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands had directed the Tourism and the Forest Department to develop atleast one Model beach in South Andaman. But sadly neither that Model Beach was developed nor are other Beaches given a facelift. Most of the beaches in A& N Islands are horribly dirty and totally unmanaged, which leaves most of the visitors totally upset. Hope in coming days, we would get news that the Forest and Tourism Department have developed atleast one beach in Andaman as ‘Model Beach’.
