Proof of a Conflict of Interest: Chair of BOE, and New Hope Pastor, Don Horner received a letter from New Hope requesting that the BOE lift the 5-year lease limitation so that the church could rent space at public schools for church purposes. This was an issue of violation as New Hope was embroiled in a lawsuit alleging fraud and the underpayment of rent due to Hawaiis public schools. The letter is attached. Soon thereafter, the BOE did what New Hope asked. And soon after that Farrington High Schools roof collapsed, uncovering more than dilapidated public school infrastructure.
