Provided mother nature cooperates, tomorrow morning CCA SC and its conservation partners at the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation will begin the process of establishing new fisheries habitat off the Palmetto State coast. The foundation for this nearshore reef off of North Inlet will be this 65’ long, 22’ wide metal hull shrimp boat. Modifications to the structure are nearing completion today with more reef material being added to create additional habitat going up into the water column. Located approximately nine miles off the coast and in 55-60 feet of water, it should be within easy reach of anglers looking to enjoy an opportunity for multiple species. Recreational anglers are invited to join CCA SC on the deployment of this reef tomorrow between the hours of noon and 1 pm. Stay tuned for additional pictures, video, and information on this exciting new habitat project. Habitat Today equals Fish Tomorrow!
