Psalm 50 and The Lion Psalm 50:23 But true praise is a worthy - TopicsExpress

Psalm 50 and The Lion Psalm 50:23 But true praise is a worthy sacrifice; ... True praise? Why do you do what you do in your worship of God? In aprox 1985 I had a dream. A very large flying lion (Jesus) came looking for me. I was terrified and hid in the rocks on the edge of a great canyon. He landed just feet above me on the edge of the cliff. I knew he knew I was there. But still I hid trembling, afraid to see his face. He waited there on the edge without a sound for a time and then the dream was over. Almost 30 years later the dream continued from the point it left off decades before. This time the lion spoke. Prepare to see my face! How do you prepare to see Jesus? Psalm 50 describes a courtroom scene where God Is the judge over the saints and sinners. God himself gives testimony against His people. Outwardly they are practicing forms of worship going through the motions. God examines motives not actions. God looks at the why; the heart motives. Do we hunger and thirst for Him? Or do we do things that are socially acceptable? Prepare to see my face! In the mid 1990s I was in the Superdome with 18,000 young people at a national youth rally. They did a dramatization of Jesus return. Jesus was there in the spotlight. He walked the floor of the Superdome. Prepare to see my face! One day we will all face Jesus face to face. The sinners and the saints will all face him. You and me. In the 30 year span of that one dream I was a born again believer. I was a youth leader and a Christian father and husband. I read about God and thought I knew a lot about him. He had my heart and my mind but I never fully understood what it was to worship Him. Prepare to see my face! Even now I am just beginning to appreciate worship. Seeking only His presence and His face. Fearlessly. Over the past few years during times of worship I have been experiencing physical healing and visions. In one vision I saw a fiery cross coming down from the sky. Whenever something like that happens, I have learned to ask God What are you showing me? Prepare to see my face! It seems that God is calling me to completely trust him in everything. To give myself completely to Him. To walk fearlessly wherever he leads me and to do whatever he lays at my hearts door. Prepare to see my face! Are you prepared to completely face Jesus? It seems that the firey cross carries a new urgency for me. A call to be open about this God I worship and a call to share this same message. Prepare to see my face! So, if Jesus appears next week at Mile High Stadium instead of the Broncos and you are there. How will you worship him? Are you ready to face him; to be examined by God? Is your heart pure? Is your life in order? Can you truly worship him? Read Psalm 50 today and put yourself on the witness stand. After Jesus appeared in the Superdome 18,000 of us danced. Someday I want to dance like King David before my God and celebrate His awesome goodness with complete abandon. I might even put my hands up!
