Psalm 50LXX (51NIV): Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your great mercy. According to the multitude of Your tender mercies blot out my iniquity. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my iniquity, and my sin is ever before me. Against You only have I sinned, and done evil in Your sight, that You might be justified in Your words, and prevail when You art judged. For behold, I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. For behold, You have loved truth: The unclear and hidden things of Your wisdom You have made clear to me. You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; You shalt wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. You shall make me to hear joy and gladness; the bones which You have broken shall rejoice. Turn away Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from Your presence, and take not Your holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of Your salvation, and steady me with a guiding spirit. Then will I teach transgressors Your ways, and the impious shall be converted unto You. Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, You God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open You my lips, and my mouth shall declare You praise. For had You desired sacrifice, I would have given it You; You delight not in burnt offerings. Sacrifices to God are a contrite spirit; a contrite and humble heart, O God, You will not despise. Do good, O Lord, in Your good will unto Zion, that the walls of Jerusalem may be built up. Then shall You be pleased with the sacrifice of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offerings. Then shall they offer bullocks upon Your altar.
